Oando Staff Cooperative, History & Purpose.


Oando staff Cooperative Multipurpose Society was registered under the Cooperative Societies Law, chapter C15 of the laws of Lagos State in May 2009 with the prime objective of providing efficient services to her members for improving their economic and social well-being.

The Cooperative at the time of its establishment, drew its membership from the Staff of Oando Plc and its subsidiaries. Following the divestment of the Oando Plc, members of the Cooperative are drawn from the following companies;

  • Oando Energy Resources
  • Axxela Group
  • OVH Energy Marketing
  • OES Energy Services
  • Oando Plc.

Oando Staff Cooperative commenced operation by mobilizing savings and granting twice the savings as loan to members at its inception.

The Society is also poised to provide the following services:
  • Purchase of Electronics, Household & equipment
  • Estate development
  • Provision of Housing unites through house ownership schemes and mortgage loans.
  • Insurance
  • Regular, short term and Special Loans.
  • Discounted consumer goods even as festive periods.
Under a visionary Management committee, the society is progressively improving its operations and performance over the years.
The Bye Laws of the Society provide the rules and regulations governing all its activities with respect to both membership and elected officials.
The Lagos State Ministry for Cooperative Societies also oversee the operations of the Cooperative as to ensure compliance to the relevant laws of the State.

Elected officials comprise of Management Committee which oversee the day to day operations of the Cooperation and Supervisory Committee members who provide a check and balance to the management committee as to ensure compliance to the Cooperative Bye-laws. The Management Committee is comprised of seven positions which are as follows:
  • President
  • Vice President
  • General Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Financial Secretary
  • Asst. General Secretary
  • Ex-Officio
The Supervisory Committee is comprised of three members
  • Chairman
  • Secretary
  • Member
