Manifesto

The most valuable component of leadership is not position, influence, talent, power, fame, academic achievement or management skills. It is character. Character is the framework of credibility for the leader. Without the element of strong, noble and honourable character, leadership and all its achievement are in danger.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am highly honoured to present myself before this noble house, seeking for your mandate to become the next Financial Secretary of our prestigious Oando Staff cooperative.

I am a dynamic results-oriented corporate finance professional with over 12 years of experience in developing structured trade finance and creating exceptional relationships with clients, peers, senior leadership, policymakers and opinion elites to provide sustainable business solutions.

My quest for excellence sheened me towards my choice of study at different stages of my life.

BSc Banking and Finance – Covenant University 2009

Certificate in Finance of International Trade- (IFC) 2013

Certificate in Corporate Finance- Harvard University 2015

Associate of Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) 2015

Certificate in international Strategic Management-Saint Petersburg University 2018

MSc Management- University of Lagos 2020

These learnings were instrumental to my success in the banking sector where I served across corporate banking and international trade finance departments for a total of 7 years. I proceeded to the energy sector where I also served as the assistant treasurer for the downstream business, and I current head the claims and equalistion team in financial control.

My key focus for the COOP as Financial Secretary (If elected) are:

a) Strengthening the financial policy formulation of Oando Staff COOP through knowledge sharing and inclusion.

b) Encourage more volunteering outside of the executive members of the cooperative to promote engagements.

c) Improving budgeting and budgetary control of the Coop for cost competitiveness.

d) Collaborating reasonably with other members in sharpening our personal finance and wealth creation competencies for shared benefit.

e) Continuous improvement in processes and procedure for effectiveness and efficiency with the group.

Vote OLAYINKA FAJEMIROKUN (ACIB) as the next Financial Secretary of Oando staff COOP.
